DANTON (DVD)
A drama of the power struggle between two leading figures of the French
Revolution, Danton and Robespierre, set in the closing years of the 18th
century. With the new republic in place Robespierre heads the Committee
For Public Safety. He has also begun the Reign Of Terror, flushing out
dissenters and sending them to the guillotine. Danton returns to Paris
from his self imposed exile to call for an end to the bloodshed. This
turns his former ally Robespierre into an enemy...
